MINI LEAGUES MASCOTS AT THE CARLOW CUP GAME

 

Monaghan United Mini Leagues players Conor Flynn, Shane McCabe, Ben Sheridan and Shea Treanor had the honour of leading the teams onto the pitch for the Monaghan United v FC Carlow FAI Ford Cup game on Tuesday night 29th June.  Thank you to the boys for doing such a great job as Mascots and ballboys.

 

 COME TO CAMP - WIN CHANCE TO PLAY IN AVIVA STADIUM

 

Monaghan United FC are delighted to announce that any children coming to the Monaghan United Summer camp are in with a chance of taking part in a Penalty Shootout in the brand new Aviva Stadium at half time of the Airtricity League XI v Manchester United game on 4th of August. 

 

The competition is being held at summer camp in association with the FAI, Airtricity League and the Aviva Stadium.  All children participating must be under the age of 15 (born after 4th August 1995) and be available to take part in a regional final in Sligo on Saturday 31st July. 

 

To take part in the competition, sign up for summer camp, come and practice your penalties daily and take part in the competition to find Monaghan United's penalty taker for the competition.

 

Summer Camp is running from Monday 5th July to Friday 9th July 10 am to 3pm daily.  Register now to ensure that you have a chance of taking penalties in the new home of Irish Football, the Aviva Stadium.

 

 

MONAGHAN CREDIT UNION CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE MINI LEAGUES

Down through the years Monaghan United FC have been able to offer the children of Monaghan aged from 5 to 12 great coaching and fun playing football on Sunday mornings through the Mini Leagues Programme.  This has been made possible by the sponsorship of Monaghan Credit Union and without them, the cost of providing the high level of football to the children of Monaghan would be out of reach for most families.

Under 11 MSDL

With the final round of matches in the inaugural Under11 MSDL this Friday we congratulate all 150 payers for their participation. This competition couldn't have taken place were it not for the wonderful support of the adults involved who gave up so much of their spare time for the training and coaching the many other tasks that were involved.

 

The Final games will take place Friday night at Monaghan United FC's Regional Development Centre.  All Monaghan United Players should be there at 6.30pm for a 7pm kick off and presentation of medals after.

 

 

 

MINI LEAGUES - SENIOR MENTORS

With the Monaghan United Senior team training at the Regional Development Centre more regularly for the coming season, children participating in the Mini Leagues will reap the rewards! 

On Sunday 21st of February, following pre-season training on Saturday, the Monaghan United senior team will be taking up their roles as mentors for the youngest club members.

This programme will see Senior Squad members acting as coaches to the mini leagues and giving them advice and encouragement as they strive to become successful footballers. The first hand knowledge of League of Ireland football that the mentors will impart on the youngsters will hopefully help them to develop and feel a desire to follow in their hero's footsteps.

Children participating in the Mini Leagues will also get the opportunity to come into the dressing room before LOI games to see how the team prepare and will get the chance to be mascot or ball boys at games.

 Any Children wishing to play football at Monaghan United's Mini Leagues should come along this Sunday Morning and register. Registration of €30 for the second half of the season may be made to Coaches or Julie-Ann on Sunday mornings.

Children aged from 5yrs - 8yrs play at 11.a.m. to 12 noon and 9yrs-12yrs play from noon to 1.p.m. A coach and separate cage will be provided if there are enough girls who wish to play football. 

The first coaching session with the Senior players on Sunday 21st February is open to children from all clubs or those who are not currently with any club. Come and join the fun!

 

       

 

MONAGHAN CREDIT UNION MINI LEAGUES SPRING SEASON

 

The Spring season of the Monaghan United Monaghan Credit Union Mini Leagues will kick off on Sunday 31st January 2010 (weather permitting) at the usual times of 11am for 5-8 year olds and 12pm for 9-11 year olds.  

 

Anyone wishing to join the mini leagues can do so by downloading the form below or filling in forms which will be in the local schools towards the end of January 2010.
